It’s been fourteen years since they put me on this island
No ship, no crew an’ no bottle of rum!
Me boots have rotten, me mood turned sour
No ship, no crew an’ no bottle of rum!
Now I tell ye me ol’ salt I wish I was there
With me ship, me crew an’ me bottle of rum!
There on the high sea, with the winds an’ the waves
Me ship, me crew an’ me bottle of rum!
Oh lord, if ye ever steer a ship here
A ship with a crew an’ a bottle of rum
I´ll promise I’ll never go rovin’ no more
With me ship me crew an’ me bottle of rum
I´ll be meek as lamb an’ calm as a saint
Jus me an’ me ship an’ me bottle of rum
An’ i´ll never end up in a dance with Jack Keer
With no ship, no crew an’ no bottle of rum
but lord let me not meet that treacherous first mate
With me ship me crew an me bottle of rum
‘Couse then with me cutlass I’ll chop off his limbs
I´ll smash in his face with me bottle of rum
I curse their bones for leaving me here
Deceitful crew, empty bottle of rum
They’re plundrin’ an’ sailin’ the main without me
On me ship, with me crew an’ me bottle of rum!
I hope they´ll reach ropes end there at sea
Crushed ship, drowned crew an’ smashed bottle of rum!
An’ be thrown in the Spaniards deep dungeon of woe
No ship, no crew an’ no bottle of rum!
It’s been fourteen years since they put me on this island
No ship, no crew an’ no bottle of rum!
Me mood has rotten me hope is dim
No ship, no crew an’ no bottle of rum!
Now I tell ye me ol’ salt I wish I was there
With me ship, me crew an’ me bottle of rum!
There on the high sea, with the winds an’ the waves
Me ship, me crew an’ me bottle of rum!

Welcome to Tortuga
02:02
|
|||
The island of Tortuga is a haven fer our salty kind,
Where sixteen hundred harlots can help a mate unwind.
And forty odd taverns can quench yer hevy thirst each night,
All thanks to Henry Morgan, the man fer whom we fight.
So join our band of brothers and be a lawless buckaneer,
Or sail with king charles blessing, as a privateer.
Come spend yer share of loot here, in our dark but friendly port
Don’t be a greedy cheap-arse, yer life is far to short.
So hold on to yer sabres, ye spaniards ye sailors,
Yer heading fer Tortuga and the Brethren of the Coast.
So hold on to yer pouches, to yer spouses and yer trousers,
Or the whores of henry morgan will lure ye from yer post
Its a place to make a fortune, on expence of those less fortunate,
A place to loose yer savings, in a single bet.
A place for new beginnings, a place of filth n’ self-made men
A place for early endings, at best friend's cutlass’ end.
The island of tortuga, is a haven fer our salty kind,
Where sins fer every pleasure, are eas’ly to be found.
Pick the poison of yer liking, and let all other worries be,
Tomorrow well go fighting, the Limeys on the sea
So hold on to yer sabres, ye spaniards ye sailors,
Yer heading fer Tortuga and the Brethren of the Coast.
So hold on to yer purses, to yer boots and yer curses,
Or The whores of henry morgan will lure ye from yer post
Or The whores of henry morgan will drag ye from yer post!

Yellow Jack
05:28
|
|||
Now listen me mateys i´ll tip ye some staves
some songs ‘bout me mis’ry fer ye
I was bound fer Bermuda with a shipment of slaves
‘was nothing special to me
But when we were loadin’ we found the ships cat
Wet and stiff and dead.
One of the mateys spit in his hat:
And cried hoist the Yellow Jack!
In the port of Dublin our swab boy turned ill
It was nothing that bothered the crew
Ay e’ was a lubber, let me tell ye, I will
He cried hoist the Yellow Jack!
Two days later we shovelled ‘es corpse
Down in the ocean so vast
But a few moments later the lookout turned green
And we hoist the Yellow Jack!
Hoist the Yellow Jack. Hoy hoy
hoist the Yellow Jack.
On the coast of Tortuga we encountered a sight
That freeze men’s blood in their veins
There on the horizon was ye pirates black rag
An’ we braced fer a bloody end
But there is one thing even fearless men fears
To the devil with blisters descend
So then our clever first mate howled and cried – he cried:
Hoist the Yellow Jack, Hoy hoy
hoist the Yellow Jack
And after some racket and a stray cannon blast
The corsairs turned their tail
And we cheered – afore and beyond the mast (loud cheers)
Around our Yellow Jack! Hoy hoy…
Hoist the Yellow Jack, Hoy hoy
hoist the Yellow Jack
On the sixth day me Cap’n hit the deck
With a clatter and a moan
And the moment before he left this world
He cried hoist the Yellow Jack! Hoy hoy
Hoist the Yellow Jack, Hoy hoy
hoist the Yellow Jack
A few days later we were driftin’ off course
Lost in Caribbean night
The only noise was a mumbling of men
Mumbling hoist the Yellow Jack!
Hoy hoy Hoist the Yellow Jack, Hoy hoy
hoist the Yellow Jack
Now I am alone on this barren ghost ship
An’ the blisters be clouding me will
Me legs are stiff and me throat is dry,
So i´ll drink from this bottle me fill
Then i´ll hoist the Yellow Jack! Hoy hoy
Hoist the Yellow Jack, Hoy hoy
hoist the Yellow Jack. Hoy hoy

'Bout me Father
04:05
|
|||
I tell ye ‘bout me father he was a cautious man
An’ in es’ small saloon there was a man called Scurvy Dan
His speech was solely curses and his songs they chilled me bones
He sang bout haunted galleys he sang bout Davey Jones
An’ late at night the song turned into a quite seditious moan
Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!
But he was found by stately men and sure they had him hang
With me stayed tales of sea and the words he often sang
But this song is ‘bout me father who was a cautious man
Who got in loads of trouble for keeping Scurvy Dan
Who all the way to hangman’s gate before me as I ran
Cried - Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!
I tell ye ‘bout me father he was a cautious man
E’ said just do yer labour as tidy as ye can
But on the day the royal crown took away his land
Not he nor any cautious man took an honest stand
But I a lad of 14 years I shouted like man
Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!
An’ I was thrown in jail of course me age had saved me neck
But I escaped to open sea to swab a schooners deck
An’ soon I learned for sure this worlds’ no place for cautious men
And I - I made a name fer me at the local pirate den
And soon all rats that sail the sea they knew of Scurvy Ben
Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!
An’ I returned to Port Royal with quite a bulky fleet
There was one man that I fer sure was very keen to meet
In hours we had crushed their ships and stormed up to the fort
And fought of cautious men at arms of the lowest sort
Then I was injured and enclosed on the dusty court
Cry’in - Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!
They hacked away and fired shots and I was surely doomed
But then some loud bangs reached me ears and a man above me loomed
There stood me sturdy father no more a cautious man
The grimmest smile upon his face, a musket in his hand
He grabbed me hand, he pat me back, he dragged me to me feet
Cryin- Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!
An’ with new strength an’ side by side we breached the wooden door
Our sabres gleamed, our pistols cracked and soon there on the floor
Lay that bilge rat gov’nor in a heap of silk and gore
An’ out there in the twilight gleam rose a rhythmic roar
The whole towns men was in the street voicing our shout of war
Yo-ho! Hi ho! All rise against the gov’nor!

It Matters Not
02:40
|
|||
It matters not....
Well hi there lad, so wishes you, to join our godforsaken crew?
I wonder what dark deeds you did, to leave behind that wife and kid…
Mine is a tale of death and grief, I thought I caught a burglar-thief
When I’d been out to have a glass, and found in bed a strangers arse.
I grabbed me pot and cracked his head, and there beside him in me bed,
Me pretty love, me wife Marlene. – “You killed the taxman Ted” She screamed!
Well all of that is past and gone, it matters not now what you’ve done.
But next time clean your pot ahead, cause you don’t want piss in bed.
Invested had for many years, a jewish friend and I in shares.
Now his daughter was a bride to be, and for the wedding he sent me.
To sell our shares and make sure, her chastity was well secure
But her nanny had me drunk and I then craved for jewish cherry-pie…
Well all of that is past and gone, it matters not now what I’ve done.
But I in bed the lassie laid, and her Nanny a fortune made
You see that man there on the deck, he killed a priest for a gambling debt,
Then donned his robes upon the neck, and went to church to hold collect.
When to pay his debt, had come the time, he bet and lost his every dime.
So now he preaches for our lot, that steal and murder, thou shall not.
Well all of that is past and gone, it matters not now what he’s done.
But when his drunk he screams and moans – lets roll them lucky bones!
But worst of all our captain is, she used to be a noble miss.
Rich in beauty, gold and health, she lived a life of joy and wealth.
But meant to wed the Prince of Wales, she ran away and set her sails,
‘Cause better then to flee from land, than to merry a bloody Englishman!
Well all of that is past and gone, it matter not now what she’s done.
She’s sailed the seven seas for years, and every limy her name fear.
Well all of that is past and gone, it matter not now what we’ve done.
You’ve past the point of no return, and the pirate trade shall learn.

Colour of Sin
03:02
|
|||
I may be a simple lass, but of sin I am free
I say me prayers, attend the mass, so paradise I will see.
Me face is pretty, so I’ve been told, I’ve had me share of swains.
One of which were far too bold, too impious and too vain.
So I opened his gut, with a single deep cut, and his boots turned warm n’ red.
Then he knelt in the sand, with his bowels in hand, as slowly to death he bled.
And then the man who looked fer bass, in me barrow at the square,
Then asked fer me to be his lass, he said he’d pay me fair.
But I have kept me chastity, abstained from adultery.
But he listened not and he would not see, as he reached put fer me.
So I shovelled his mouth, down a barrel of trout, till his knuckles turned boney white.
As he struggled for air, but I held him down there ‘til he finally gave up the fight.
One day it seemed me luck had turned, as there approached to me,
A noble lad who fer me yearned, he wished to marry me.
He courted me fer many weeks, ‘til finally I sad aye,
But then his friend with rosy cheeks, tried drunk to with me lay.
So I had the man hanged, as me wedding bells rang, so his pants turned solied n’ brown.
Then his eyes filled with blood, and he dropped in the mud, as the hang-man cut him down.
And so came then me wedding night, fer which I had so longed.
But his moves were far from right, to heathens they belonged!
So I smothered me man, with me pillow in hand, ‘till his prick turned stiff and black.
Then I dug him a grave, so his sould I’d save
Now I a widow may be, but from sin I am free,
Now I a widow may be, but from sin I am free
And with his pension, I money wont’t lack.

Waves Roll High
02:39
|
|||
Our lookout drunk in the crow’s nest lies
Waves roll high full fathom five
No ship nor rock his hog eye spies
Yarr, harr, harr says old Jack Tar
Our drummer boy tone deaf must be
Waves roll high full fathom five
Off the beat and out of key
Yarr, harr, harr says old Jack Tar
Anchor weigh, lines belay
Rig and stow ye old fore stay
Warm grog for the chantyman
Rope’s end to the drunken hands
One eye be the ship’s first mate
Waves roll high full fathom five
Larboard side he can’t locate
Yarr, harr, harr says old Jack Tar
Fiddle Eve must navigate
Waves roll high full fathom five
She used his eye for fishing bait
Yarr, harr, harr says old Jack Tar
Last captain’s name was Valdemon
Waves roll high full fathom five
A Spaniard and a bastard son
Yarr, harr, harr says old Jack Tar
Gangplanked once and now marooned
Waves roll high full fathom five
His brother had his rear harpooned
Yarr, harr, harr says old Jack Tar
Anchor weigh, lines belay
Rig and stow ye old fore stay
Warm grog for the chantyman
Rope’s end to the drunken hands

Fire Down Below
02:26
|
|||
When I was young, yes just a lad, me father told me son,
Ye have te promise never ever a sailor to become.
Upon our family befallen, has an awful curse,
And if ye try te fight yer fate, yea’ll only make’t worse.
Yer father’s father went to sea ye see , it didn’t start out well,
He brought a wench in ladies clothes n’ sent them straight to hell.
A horny lad of twenty years, he tried to kiss the dame,
But dropped a lamp upon the deck’n set the ship on flames.
And soon there after all the men cried FIRE DOWN BELOW!
Ye brought a wench and now we’re doomed, THE SHIP IS GONNA BLOW!
Yer Grandpa died right there at sea, but the curse passed on to me,
As a sailor I set out to be, I lost me limbs at sea.
A stray shot of a Spaniard ship hit a powder keg,
A fiery blast like nothing else gave me two wooden legs.
I lay there legless under deck with FIRE DOWN BELOW!
Then I rolled overboard before THE SHIP WAS GONNA BLOW!
I’ve always known me father be a lier and a drunk,
And that same night as Pa’ passed out, I packed his sailor’s trunk.
I enlisted on a man o’ war to prove me old man wrong,
I would show that unlike him, I at the sea belonged.
But suddenly I heard the swab cry FIRE DOWN BELOW!
And I prayed to God, don’t let them say THE SHIP IS GONNA BLOW
I lay there sobbing like a lass, behind the main top mast,
as others manned the pumps and put the fire out real fast.
I cursed me self I felt ashamed, then got back to me feet
I swore to never more disgrace the British royal fleet.
But one day later, I smelled smoke and FIRE DOWN BELOW!
And all the men cried, save yer selves, THE SHIP I S GONNA BLOW!
I remember smoke and burning flames, followed by a boom,
Then I woke up on a beach to see, me arms were lost n’ doomed
Now I know fer sure me son, the curse fer real it be
I moved off coast so you will never, look upon the sea.
But in me sleep I still hear screams THERE’S FIRE DOWMN BELOW!
I jump the bed, scream as I wake THE SHIP IS GONNA BLOW!

Ye listen to me words me friend Ohoy, Ohoy!
Our days are comin’ to an end. Ohoy, Ohoy!
At sea there dreadful horrors be, they’re comin’ here fer ye n’ me,
And we all be doomed when ye dead come sailing home.
In fifteen hundred and sixty-one. Ohoy, Ohoy!
A ship with crew went down n drowned. Ohoy, Ohoy!
But the captain said we dead won’t stay,
I’ll sell me soul to be back one day,
In a hundred years ye dead will sail again!
When ye dead come sailin’ home again Ohoy, Ohoy!
All men n’ women tremble then. Ohoy, Ohoy!
Oh the men will flee, n’ the boys will shout,
the ladies they will all turn out.
And they all be doomed when ye dead come sailin’ home
Ye old church bell shall ring with dread Ohoy, Ohoy!
To welcome our returning dead. Ohoy, Ohoy!
The village lads n’ lassies say,
piles of corpses line the way.
And they all be doomed when ye dead come sailin’ home.
In sixteen hundred and sixty-one Ohoy, Ohoy!
Ye dead shall sail again me friend. Ohoy, Ohoy!
In sixteen hundred and sixty-one,
All men and women will turn n’ run.
And all they be doomed when ye dead come sailin’ home.
Them hundred years have past so fast Ohoy, Ohoy!
Behold at sea a crooked mast. Ohoy, Ohoy!
A rotten deck n’ a leaking hull,
under a rag of bones n skull.
And we all be doomed when ye dead come sailin’ home.
